UK-based studio monitor specialist PMC is pleased to announce the appointment of Mix Wave Inc. as its exclusive distributor for its range of professional monitoring products in Japan. This strategic partnership marks a significant step in PMC’s ongoing global expansion, strengthening its commitment to one of the world’s most influential recording and music markets. With Mix Wave’s extensive experience and strong presence in Japan’s pro audio industry, the collaboration is set to deliver exceptional support and accessibility to customers seeking PMC technology’s renowned accuracy and performance.
“We’re excited to begin a new chapter of growth in Japan with the appointment of Mix Wave as our exclusive distributor,” commented PMC’s senior export business development manager, Dan Zimbelman. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Hirokazu Saika-san and his team for many years in my previous role, where together we successfully built up the API console brand in Japan. Mix Wave has developed into an exceptional organisation with a dedicated team of professionals who are deeply rooted in the pro audio industry, supporting the recording, post-production, broadcast and MI markets alike. In PMC’s position as global leaders of the Dolby Atmos Music format, we see tremendous potential for our products in all areas of pro audio in Japan. Mix Wave not only brings outstanding sales expertise to the table, but also delivers unmatched service and support – from private studios to the most prestigious recording facilities.”
Added Mix Wave president Hirokazu Saika: “We are very pleased that our company has been appointed to handle PMC. I first imported some of their speakers to Japan 30 years ago, and I still remember my interactions with company founders Peter Thomas and Adrian Loader at that time, so I’m delighted to be working with PMC again. I’d like to thank Dan-san and the PMC team for the opportunity to represent a brand that has solutions for individual engineers and producers right up to the largest studio facility. PMC’s role as a leading supplier of Dolby Atmos systems is especially significant for the Japanese market, which has long been pioneering immersive audio technology.”
Mix Wave was established in 2006 and has built up a portfolio of premium pro audio brands including API, Prism Sound, Fischer Amps, Flock Audio and Vertigo Sound. The company also represents a range of leading consumer audio, musical instrument and video technology.
The new distribution agreement comes into effect on 15 August 2025, and Mix Wave will be showing a full PMC Dolby Atmos Music demo system at the InterBEE tradeshow in Tokyo from 19-21 November.
