The hand-built PMC75(v3) builds on the legendary PMC75 soft-dome midrange drive unit, which has given PMC its signature vocal transparency for over three decades.
This unit features a fully vented pole piece, coupled to a twin-flow Advanced Transmission line absorber, aptly named a-void™. It is a long, damped acoustic chamber that absorbs unwanted sound from the rear of the diaphragm, preventing it from reflecting back through the dome and creating audible colouration. The additional benefits include the minimisation of back-pressure on the diaphragm, allowing for a supreme transient response and increased efficiency, while also providing an extended, linear low-end response, enabling seamless integration with the bass units.
Surrounding the dome is a distinct and uniquely engineered dual-profile waveguide aptly named n-compass™, in which the exponential base profile provides low-frequency extension, while the distinctive hyperbolic `inclusions´ ensure smooth and wide dispersion. Working in unison, the two profiles deliver perfectly matched dispersion angles throughout both crossover regions, with a smooth and consistent frequency response both on- and off-axis, ensuring a vast listening sweet spot and a stable 3D soundstage.
