The BST, PMCs highest-performance subwoofer to date. Designed to extend the deep bass extension and headroom of PMC’s largest professional active monitoring and reference-grade cinema systems, the BST passive subwoofer boasts the deepest, highest SPL, and lowest-distortion bass available from PMC.

Designed to fit beneath a QB1 or QB1XBD main monitoring system, the BST subwoofer can extend the deep bass capabilities of any PMC setup, whether two-channel or multichannel. Being passive, the subwoofer enables a variety of flexible and easy mounting options, including freestanding, in-wall and soffit-mounted.

An effective ATL (Advanced Transmission Line) length of 4.5m extends frequencies to below 17Hz, while a 15” drive unit handles peak excursions in excess of 40mm each way to a maximum continuous peak SPL of 120dB, far exceeding any previous PMC product.

The drive unit’s innovative motor structure features a large ferrite magnet inside a colossal 7.4” voice coil, facilitating extremely efficient magnetic flux deployment and extraordinary thermal power handling capabilities more than 2500W RMS continuous. This maintains extreme output levels for extended periods of time with negligible power compression or distortion.

As the ATL’s vent exit experiences high air velocities from the 15” drive unit’s extreme excursions and the sheer force of the motor driving air through the transmission line, PMC has provided its LaminairX aerodynamic control to negate turbulence and drag. This in turn reduces resistance, bringing down harmonic distortion by up to 3dB, eliminating air noise and providing bass with superlative timing and an unparalleled dynamic range.

To handle the extreme acoustic pressures created within the ATL by the 15” drive unit, the BST cabinet features 36mm-thick panels on the front, top, bottom, and back baffles. Thanks to the ATL structure, the side panels benefit from immense bracing. Combined with further reinforcement from the extra-long LaminairX fins before the vent exit, the BST cabinet remains inert, even at the highest output levels.

THE SOUNDALIGN² INTERFACE

TAKE CONTROL

SOUNDALIGN digital interface
The SoundAlign2™ web interface offers intuitive and responsive control of our near, mid, and main active DSP monitors, as well as their matching subwoofers. Each monitor speaker has a built-in web server. You can access it over a wired Ethernet connection, using any standard web browser on a PC or Mac system.

The new SoundAlign2 software will be released alongside our new main monitor systems. Existing SoundAlign users can access the updated control software via our Firmware Downloads page, ensuring a streamlined upgrade path to the enhanced SoundAlign2 platform. Notifications regarding the release date will be communicated via email and our social media channels. ABOUT SOUNDALIGN
One of the keys to our legendary natural, uncoloured sound is our Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) bass-loading. ATL uses energy generated by the bass unit in a much more intelligent and efficient way than speaker designs based on ported or sealed boxes. Our Laminair airflow technology further enhances ATL and improves definition, timing and eradicates unwanted air noise.
ABOUT ATL & LAMINAIR

WIDE DISPERSION

All PMC monitors have ultra-wide dispersion and a linear off-axis response. This creates a vast sweet spot for stereo and a seamless sound field for immersive formats, allowing sounds to be placed and adjusted with complete precision.
