Unilets “Digital Analogue Challenge” event

PMC is providing its support to retailer Unilet Sound & Vision’s forthcoming “Digital Analogue Challenge” event on 6th/7th December by supplying a pair of MB2SE speakers and Bryston amplification for use with a state of the art vinyl playback system.

The MB2SE’s, which are used in recording studios across the world due to their ability to get right into the heart of the music, will be partnered with the new Vertere Acoustics RG1 turntable system.

Visitors to the southwest London store will be able to listen to classic albums played through this system and compare the performance to exactly the same album being played on a high-end digital streaming system. It is for the visitors to make their own minds up during the “Challenge”, but with PMC’s experience from the studio world it is confident that every nuance that makes a truly great recording will be plain to ‘see’ with the aid of the supreme clarity offered by the large three-way MB2SE speakers.

The classic album programme is:

Friday 6th December
1pm David Bowie – The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars
4pm Shelby Lynne – Just a Little Lovin’
7pm Fleetwood Mac – Rumours

Saturday 7th December
11am Gustav Holst – The Planets Suite Op.42, London Symphony Orchestra
1pm Pink Floyd – Dark Side of the Moon
3pm Queen – Absolute Greatest

During both days, Peter Thomas, owner and chief designer, will be on hand to discuss the finer aspects of PMC loudspeaker design, including the ATL technology and “From Studio To Home” philosophy.

Tom Barron, UK sales manager, says, “When Unilet contacted us to say they were planning a challenge event to pit the best analogue system with the best digital system we were immediately on board. With the combination of PMC, Vertere and Bryston we are sure we will simply blow the visitors away.” He concludes, “It promises to be an exciting couple of days for everyone who wants to hear how good music can really sound!”
