PMC Gets Behind a ‘Radical’ Idea – Owner of HiFi Lounge, Paul Clark, is pleased to announce sponsorship by PMC and five other major UK hi-fi brands for his recently acquired Radical SR1 race car, which will be unveiled as the “Best of British Hi-Fi” at forthcoming race meetings.
Adorning the side of this latest generation 182bhp, 3.5 second 0-60mph, pure sports-racing car, will be the logos from primary sponsors PMC, Chord Electronics, Naim Audio, Trilogy Audio and additional sponsors, Rega and Atlas Cables. Each company has signed a one-year deal, which will see their brands exposed at the top race tracks across the UK in the 2018 Radical SR1 Cup Season, commencing at Oulton Park, Cheshire, and visiting such well-known courses as Brands Hatch, Silverstone and Donington Park.
Hi-Fi Lounge customers, the sponsors and their guests, will be able to see the car at the Hi-Fi Lounge “Boys Toys Day” on 26 May. This annual cars, hi-fi and bar-b-q event will feature exotic cars brought in by the company’s customers, as well as Paul’s SR1 and other special vehicles from Radical. There will even be the chance for one lucky winner to receive Silverstone hospitality at a forthcoming race meeting – if they can beat Paul’s Silverstone lap time on his own high-tech racing simulator.
Paul will also be making the car available to the sponsors for use in their own publicity activities, for example hosting product launches in the paddocks at race meetings. The sponsors will also be able to offer their customers the thrill of the race track with rides in the two-seater car, alongside Paul.
Paul Clark comments ”I have been hooked on motor racing since ever since I first went karting and took part in a couple of track days. The opportunity to own and race my very own car was one I just couldn’t pass up on and so the SR1 was purchased.” He continues, “It’s a joy to drive and the thrill of the being on the track is incredible, but, of course, the running costs are very high and so I am extremely grateful to these six fabulous British hi-fi brands for their sponsorship. It will enable me to compete under the ‘Best of British Hi-Fi’ banner at races throughout the season, gaining publicity for each company and allowing them to give their customers something special too.”
