The prodigy5 floorstander is compact but powerful, taking up no more space than bookshelf speakers on stands thanks to a small footprint suited to any style of room – yet it can fill even larger spaces with weighty, crisply defined music.

This is a phenomenal communicator, packed with verve and fun, combining a sweet, open treble with wide dispersion to provide a vast listening ‘sweet-spot’ with excellent focus.

It also delivers transparent, natural vocals and instrumental sound, and an untainted, solid bottom end.

Thanks to an extended Advanced Transmission Line with twin Laminair vents for smoother airflow, the prodigy5 lives up to its name with prodigious bass power. That is combined with tight, clean control for a really dynamic, thrilling presentation of the true weight of the music, almost regardless of where you place the speakers in the room.

Designed to reveal all the quality of your favoured electronics, the slender prodigy5 will blend into any space, with the option of grilles available for those who like their speakers even more discreet.

"Replacing GB1’s which have always been great. I have just installed the Prodigy 5’s and already on first listen they sound impressive. Roll on run in period. For what it’s worth I like the look and finish too. Here’s to many years happy listening. "
Mr N, Harrogate
"I have been wanting PMC Speakers to compliment my Naim Unitilite but the price has been prohibitive. The new Prodigy range made the prospect more affordable. I have had the opportunity to test the product in my home and they sound amazing. Positioned appropriately you really feel like the musicians are in your room. The clarity, sound stage and stereo are awesome. "
Mr D, Doncaster
"These speakers are perfect for my smaller room. The bass produced is exactly what I was looking for, and I can’t see myself changing speakers again. "
Mr M, Tillicoultry
"My son told me about these speakers, he said I would like them and he was right! Great quality and sound. "

"Still running in but sounds good. "
Mr D, Essex
"So far I have just hooked the PMC Prodigy 5 up to my amp. I still need to make adjustments and run in the speaker for the recommended period of 50 hours.. Overall, the build quality is very good. The first song I played was amazing to my ears – I could actually hear things which I never noticed before and the vocal clarity is beautiful. "
Mr N, Victoria

The Inside Story

Hear from the design team about the prodigy models and what makes them such remarkable performers.

One of the keys to our legendary natural, uncoloured sound is our Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) bass-loading. ATL uses energy generated by the bass unit in a much more intelligent and efficient way than speaker designs based on ported or sealed boxes. Our Laminair airflow technology further enhances ATL and improves definition, timing and eradicates unwanted air noise.

AT HOME IN THE STUDIO

This quest for sonic transparency and neutrality has always been our driving force, using advanced engineering to reproduce music as vividly and faithfully as possible. After all, it’s in our name – the Professional Monitor Company – and our designs are used in studios worldwide to create the sound you can also enjoy on our speakers in your home.

From studio to home

At PMC, music is an obsession: getting as close as possible to what’s being played and recorded has always been our passion. Our aim is not to impose an additional character on the music, rather to create a clear window for the artist’s vision, forming a true emotional connection between the music and the listener at home.
