USA Field Service & Support Engineer

The field service and support engineer position for PMC USA encompasses multiple roles and responsibilities; requiring a multi skilled, flexible and outgoing personality. The main focus of this role is on repairing and maintaining PMC and associated high end audio equipment. The other side of the role will involve technical support requiring visits to studios and customer locations to troubleshoot and or repair equipment on site. Self-organisation will be critical in this role as the sole service position within PMC USA – requiring the postholder to handle stock, logistics and administration of service jobs as well.
 
The field service and support engineer will resolve highly complex issues on a variety of technical issues, act as a liaison between customers and engineering and provide input to UK engineering on serviceability of PMC products. This team member will assist internal and external customers in resolving problems, document problem solution information in our database system, escalate product deficiencies and make enhancement solutions to the development team. The support engineer will also serve as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects. There is the future potential for this role to develop towards a Design and engineering position through close work alongside the company CTO on technical projects.
 
You will be based out of the service center at Highland Park, Los Angeles and be part of the PMC USA team; working alongside sales personnel as well as the company CTO.
 
Service and support engineer job specific tasks
- Fault finding and / or repair of loudspeakers and loudspeaker systems.
- Fault finding and / or repair of audio electronics.    
– Pre and power amplifier electronics (analogue & digital)
– Microcontrollers, logic circuits
– Source electronics
– Audio filter circuits; passive and active designs
- Programming or PMC modifications & testing of active electronics
- Drive unit QC testing
- Maintaining test equipment
- Customer liaison                    
- Speaker system setup & calibration – off site, customer involved                                 
 
The service and support engineer post holder is desired to have:
- Knowledge & experience of audio electronics repair
- Preferably degree in Electronics, engineering, or similar and / or relevant work experience in similar industry role.
- Experience using audio test equipment such as signal generators, oscilloscope etc
- Computer literate in standard Microsoft software as well as ability to learn company database systems
 
The service engineer post holder will be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
