Manufacturing Engineer

Responsible for overseeing all engineering aspects of the manufacturing facility and guiding the technical assembly team. Managing the transfer and integration of all new products developed into manufacture.

Manufacturing engineer key responsibilities and tasks

  • Ensure products are built to a technical / performance standard as set by PMC engineering. Work closely with production team.
  • Manage and resolve manufacturing issues
  • Improve existing designs and procedures to increase quality and reduce time to manufacture
  • Improve production tools and test facilities
  • Manage the implementation of design changes to existing products
  • Provide feedback on design modifications to the NPD group
  • Work closely with Purchasing and quality engineer to ensure satisfactory supply of goods meeting our technical requirements
  • Produce documentation & setup testing equipment & processes for manufacturing.
  • Bills of Materials management
    – Create BOMs and part codes for new products
    – Update existing BOMs and part codes
  • Liase with suppliers to source and develop parts and components
  • Produce monthly technical reports regarding:
    – Manufacturing issues and progress
    – New product integration progress
  • Provide input to the design of new products from the point of view of manufacturing and quality.            


  • Education to degree level in an engineering discipline
  • Experience measuring loudspeaker drive units as well as complete loudspeaker systems with computer controlled measurement systems
    – Klippel or Clio measurements systems experience desirable
  • Excellent hearing plus experience in subjective listening testing
  • Computer literate in standard Microsoft software
  • Able to create technical drawings of parts and components using computer aided design software
    – Autocad & Solidworks experience desirable
  • Able to write concise reports
  • Able to present design concepts in a clear manner
  • Experience in drive unit and crossover design
  • Knowledge and experience of mechanical and electrical engineering


The Manufacturing engineer will be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Knowledge of hifi/music/recording and broadcast techniques or personal interest in these areas.
